MY STUDENTS

It is thrilling to hear and experience my students' progress each week in their vocal lessons. To me, teaching voice is a tremendous responsibility, and I take it very seriously, always seeking out information to help my students move forward. I, too, am a consummate student. There are vocal resources uniquely available to all of us, and it is my job to help my students reach their potential and develop healthy vocal technique.

The voice, like any muscle, takes conditioning and dedication. It cannot be "fixed" in one 30-minute lesson. Each week, my students (many of whom are colleagues) and I work together to condition their instrument. Also, we work as practically as possible, choosing appropriate repertoire that applies to their unique short and long-term goals.

I am most interested in helping those with a classical background to diversify and navigate their voice, expanding repertoires beyond classical music. I've been training intensely to accomplish this myself, after many years of extensive classical training. It's a long but rewarding process.
